October Research Activities: Publication of the June 2025 Issue of the Journal of the Korean Society of Acupotomy Medicine. Dr. Hyocheong Chae, Director of Sunyujae Korean Medicine Clinic, as the Planning Director of the Korean Society of Acupotomy Medicine, concluded the first half of 2025 by publishing 『Journal of the Korean Society of Acupotomy Medicine』 Vol.9 No.1 (June 2025). This issue contains various clinical studies and academic achievements demonstrating the convergent development of acupotomy and Korean medicine.

In particular, meaningful studies combining modern medical technology and traditional Korean medicine were covered, including an ultrasound-guided pharmacopuncture protocol and case studies on the treatment of upper limb spasticity and motor dysfunction after stroke. Vol. 9 No. 1, June 2025. Concluding the first half of 2025, I am pleased to publish the June issue of the journal. This issue contains diverse and meaningful research achievements in the fields of acupotomy and Korean medicine. In particular, along with other case reports on the clinical effects of acupotomy treatment and complex Korean medicine treatments for various diseases such as upper limb spasticity after stroke, tinnitus due to sudden sensorineural hearing loss and Meniere’s syndrome, cervical radiculopathy, and autonomic dysfunction,

Ultrasound-Guided Lumbar Epidural Pharmacopuncture a systematic protocol for the procedure, and acupotomy treatment methods based on anatomical approaches for patients with motor dysfunction after stroke are included. Particularly noteworthy are studies demonstrating the convergence of modern medical technology and traditional Korean medicine. A case study that improved upper limb spasticity after stroke with complex Korean medicine treatment, including acupotomy, showed the potential of acupotomy medicine to complement the limitations of modern medicine,

The ultrasound-guided lumbar epidural pharmacopuncture protocol is a meaningful achievement that systematically organized and researched precise treatment approaches for anatomically complex and difficult-to-access deep structures. Furthermore, the acupotomy treatment method based on an anatomical approach for patients with motor dysfunction after stroke proposes a systematic treatment strategy based on scientific evidence.

In addition, a scoping review analyzing research trends in ultrasound utilization in domestic Korean medicine clinical practice will be a valuable resource presenting the current status of modern diagnostic technology utilization and future development directions in the field of Korean medicine. These studies are expected to contribute to the accumulation of scientific evidence and the enhancement of clinical efficacy in Korean medicine. Through this issue, it can be confirmed that acupotomy and Korean medicine are not merely traditional treatments, but through convergence with modern medical technology

are developing more accurate and effective treatment methods. This will raise the status of Korean medicine within the modern medical system and play an important role in providing better treatment outcomes for patients. For the publication of this journal, I sincerely thank all researchers who submitted valuable research achievements.

Furthermore, for the qualitative improvement of the papers, I also express my deep gratitude to the reviewers and editorial board members who provided careful review and advice. In the future, our journal will serve as an important academic foundation for acupotomy and Korean medicine research, providing creative inspiration to researchers, practical guidelines to clinicians, and we will do our best to continuously contribute to the development of Korean medicine.

In the December issue of the second half of the year, we will strive to present even richer and more meaningful studies. We ask for your continued interest and participation. Thank you. June 20, 2025. Planning Director Hyocheong Chae
