The 2026 Korean Society of Acupotomy Academic Conference, planned and overseen by Dr. Hyocheong Chae of Suji-gu Sunyujae Korean Medicine Clinic, recently concluded. This academic conference of the Korean Society of Acupotomy was significant as it served as a platform to share research achievements in acupotomy treatment and ultrasound-guided treatment, connecting clinical practice with research. Hello, this is Sunyujae Korean Medicine Clinic, where good intentions reside.

Dr. Hyocheong Chae (Sunyujae Korean Medicine Clinic) planned and oversaw the entire 2026 first-half academic conference of the Korean Society of Acupotomy as the Planning Director. Dr. Hyocheong Chae stated, “This academic conference was a meaningful opportunity to review a year’s worth of research accumulated in the society’s journal in one place. From the integration of ultrasound-guided technology and acupotomy treatment to various clinical cases, we were able to directly confirm the academic depth and clinical applicability of acupotomy medicine.”
He added, “Based on the achievement of KCI listing, we hope that the Korean Society of Acupotomy’s academic conference will further broaden the scope of acupotomy research.”

The Korean Society of Acupotomy, 2026 Academic Conference The successful Korean Society of Acupotomy held its ‘2026 Academic Conference’ on March 26th in the society’s lecture hall, featuring presentations, demonstrations, and Q&A sessions centered on key research achievements submitted to the society’s journal, thereby creating a platform to connect clinical practice and research. At this Korean Society of Acupotomy Academic Conference, the clinical applicability of Korean medicine complex treatments, focusing on acupotomy, was shared, along with advancements in diagnostic and treatment technologies utilizing ultrasound.
It was also impressive that the conference didn’t just stop at theoretical presentations but also included demonstrations considering actual clinical application, thereby increasing their practical utility. The academic presentations consisted of a total of 13 papers, introducing various treatment approaches and research findings, primarily focusing on musculoskeletal and neurological disorders. In particular, content applicable in actual clinical practice, such as ultrasound-guided pharmacopuncture and treatment protocols, was emphasized.
Furthermore, an excellent paper award ceremony was held, where research utilizing ultrasound received high praise and won the grand prize, and various studies related to acupotomy and Korean medicine complex treatments were also selected.

Changes observed in clinical practice: In many cases, simply reducing pain is not enough to significantly improve patients’ conditions. Therefore, accurately identifying the location of the lesion and directly treating the affected area has become increasingly important. This trend was also evident at the recent Korean Society of Acupotomy Academic Conference, where specific directions were presented on how acupotomy treatment and ultrasound-guided treatment can be combined and utilized.
